We use the pericarps of the mangosteen in our tea and it has shown that the pericarp contains xanthone, an organic chemical compound that is said to help prevent cancer, helps reduce inflammation and helps reduce bacteria in the body. Mangosteen is also an immune system booster and is rich in antioxidants. The tea can also help lower sugar levels as well as cholesterol and is perfect for people who have diabetes.
Non-acidic and Caffeine Free
Dosage: 1 tbsp of loose tea to 1 liter of water.
Ingredients: Mangosteen Pericarp, Bignay and Guyabano barks, leaves, twigs Turmeric and Goji Berries
How To Brew:
Place 1 tablespoon full of tea per 4 cups of water into a stainless casserole.
Bring to a boil and let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes low heat.
Best served hot.
Alternative Cooking Method:
Step 1: Place Loose Tea on a teapot with Strainer
Step 2: Boil Fresh water and pour into the teapot
Step 3: Wait 1 to 2 minutes
Step 4: Pour the Tea into a cup and serve
For iced tea: Put 1 tablespoon of tea into 1 liter of just boiled water, let it steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain and pour over glass with ice, add your preferred sweetener like honey, stevia or coconut sugar. You may opt to add lemon or calamansi for added flavor.
For cold brewing: Put 1 tablespoon of tea into 1 liter of water inside a tumbler or jar with lid. Store in the fridge for 24 hours.
*NOTE: Barks, leaves, and twigs can be reused up to 3-4 times. This 180g pack can make up to 24 liters worth of tea.
